DNA Expertise / 07

Operational Excellence.

Better performance.
Built to last.

We build the ownership, measures and internal capability that turn improvement into a sustained way of working, supported by Centers of Excellence and change management.

Discuss your priorities

What we implement

Improvement your organization can sustain.

Improvements fade when the project ends but ownership, standards and adoption have not been embedded. Sustainable performance needs a rhythm your teams can maintain.

01

A Center of Excellence with purpose

Centers of Excellence with defined mandate, roles, standards and operating cadence.

02

Measures connected to processes

Performance measures tied to processes rather than to organizational units.

03

Change embedded in delivery

Change management built into delivery instead of appended to it.

04

A continuous improvement rhythm

Continuous improvement cycles that keep running after the engagement closes.

05

Capability held in the business

Capability building so the standard is held internally, not by a supplier.

06

Adoption at a workable pace

Adoption planning matched to the organization's actual absorption capacity.

The connected view

From a performance signal to lasting improvement.

Explore an illustrative customer service example. Performance, ownership and adoption work together to sustain the change.

Before we begin

Good questions.
Straight answers.

What does an operational excellence consultant do?

An operational excellence consultant helps an organization close the gap between how it performs and how it could: assessing current maturity, designing the target operating model, sequencing the changes and building the internal capability that sustains improvement. The aim is an internal capability that keeps improving through evidence and ownership.

What is a target operating model (TOM)?

A target operating model is the designed future state of how an organization works: structure, processes, governance, decision rights, capabilities, technology and measures, described concretely enough to plan the journey toward it. It is the bridge between a strategy document and Monday morning.

What is a maturity assessment and what do we get from one?

A maturity assessment scores how developed your operations are across dimensions such as process management, governance, performance management and capability, against a defined scale. You get an evidence-based baseline, a peer-relative picture, and a prioritized set of gaps: the raw material for a credible improvement roadmap rather than a wish list.

How does this connect to excellence awards and government excellence programmes in the GCC?

Closely. Government entities across the UAE and Saudi Arabia are assessed under formal excellence frameworks, and the disciplines those frameworks reward are the ones this practice builds: documented governed processes, clear authorities, working performance management and institutional learning. We help establish the underlying capability and evidence; assessment outcomes depend on the applicable criteria and the organization’s performance.

How is operational excellence different from cost cutting?

Cost cutting removes spend and hopes the operation holds; operational excellence redesigns the operation so waste has nowhere to live. The financial result often overlaps, but excellence work also improves speed, quality and control, and it compounds, because the organization keeps the capability that produced the gains.

How long before we see results?

Timing depends on scope, starting maturity and adoption capacity. We agree an evidence-based baseline and prioritize improvements with clear owners and measures, while building the capability needed to sustain them.
